Have you ever wanted to sell everything you own and just "take off?" Travel the country's back roads, paddle down a meandering stream, experience breath-taking mountain views, walk among 100-year old trees, and just marvel at America's beauty? That is the dream that my partner, Betsy, and I decided to make a reality. This blog describes our adventure. The food we eat, people we meet, sights we see, and the enjoyment we find in traveling.

2012 - What A Year it has Been!

Happy New Year!

As we look back on 2012, we remark how fast the twelve months disappeared.  It has been a year of traveling to new places, raising a puppy, meeting new friends, and loving seeing the country and all it has to offer.  Well, we still love the RV lifestyle and are looking forward to another year of more adventure.  March 2013 will mark our two-year anniversary of “full-timing” and we don’t see any end in sight.  When we think back about all we have done and seen, we are tremendously grateful to have the opportunity to travel.   Most of all we were thankful for our time with family and friends that joined us along the road last year.  And, to all the new people we met in 2012 – thanks for making our journey so wonderful.  With warm hearts, Betsy, Spirit, and I wish you a wonderful New Year and hope it brings much happiness and joy.

In 2012 we wandered our way from the warm sandy Florida Keys to the snow covered mountains in Missoula, Montana.  Then back to the southwest where Tucson is our launchpad for the new year.  We drove over 7,500 miles through 10 states and making 61 new cities our "home." We don't know where 2013 will take us but are looking forward to continuing the adventure.

  1. Happy New Year! I hope the new year brings you even more adventures with both new and old friends. Keep traveling and keep blogging. Maybe we will cross paths this year.

    1. Thanks Harriet! We would love to meet you someday. This summer will be Idaho, Montana, and the Canadian Rockies and the fall in Washington and Oregon.

  2. Happy New Year and congratulations on a great year! We've spent a lot of time in Idaho and Montana, and can't wait to go back. Don't miss the Sawtooth Valley in Idaho and the Bitterroot in Montana - maybe we'll see you along the way!

We love hearing from you, so please drop us a comment
